PCM1789: Application Inquiry

Part Number: PCM1789

Hello Team,

My customer wanted to know the maximum junction temperature ( not ambient, but junction) where the device (PCM1789PW) can fully operate? The datasheet shows that the 150C absolute max junction temperature for stress screening only and functionality is not implied.

Renan

  • Hello Renan,

    Let me check on this and see if I can find any information. I will be out of office the rest of week but will be let you know by early next week.

  • Hello Renan,

    We do all our products testing and char with operating ambient temperature . So I could not find  an official number for junction temp as it is  not directly mentioned in DS. However I think you can get a rough estimate for max junction temp by  calculate  the difference b/w junction and ambient temperature (Delta T) using the following equation:

    delta_T=   Power x   (Junction-to-ambient thermal resistance  +Junction-to-case  thermal resistance)

    There is also this link that can read more on how to calculated the Junction temp:

    Hope this help your customer.
