Hardware: AM3352 connected to codec TLV320AIC3268 via I2C and I2S

I am controlling the codec using I2C directly from a user-space application.

Can I produce sound over I2S bus without a full codec driver? directly operate the "davinci McAsp" driver with some audio data/file?

Hi,

Here is an apps note on configuring the codec I2S with McBSP.

You can use I2C to configure the codec registers and the I2S bus is coming from host.
