TAS5825MEVM-SB: TAS5825

Part Number: TAS5825MEVM-SB
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PP-SALB2-EVM

I'm writing to request an update on this thread. We are also interested in loudspeaker parameter characterization for larger transducers and power levels than those associated with the TAS25xx series Smart Amplifiers.

Has any progress been made since the last response to this thread (over one year ago) wrt extracting (via a learning board) and applying loudspeaker parameters to TAS58xx or TAS27xx series amplifiers via PurePath Console 3 ?

The Laser input scaling factor of 10V/mm specified for the PP-SALB2-EVM board suggests this board would not be compatible with drivers capable of more than approximately 1mm peak.

Thanks and regards -

  • Hi David

    thank you for your question.

PP-SALB2-EVM is for LPA device calibration.

TAS58xx is a MPA device, we use different learning board for calibration.

But this board hasn't been released, if you have speaker want to calibration.

you can delivery speaker to our side. we can perform that for you.

    thanks.

  • Thanks for your quick response, Jesse.

    I have a few follow-on questions :

    1. Is there an estimated time when the learning board for MPA devices will be available ?
    2. Where would we send our transducers for characterization ?
    3. Can Klippel data be manually entered via PurePath Console 3 ?
    4. We have Klippel data for transducers we work with - Can you provide a mapping which correlates Klippel parametric data to ti param names ?

    Rgds, David

  • Hi David

Jesse is out of office these two days, will reply you on Friday.

  • David

    1. it is hard to estimate the time for the application progress is still on going.

2.you can send to our shanghai office for calibration. can you give me your email?

3.yes, it is ok to use klippel data. maybe need some minor adjustment according to the excursion and thermal test to confirm whether protection is effective or not.

4.you can open tas5825 model in ppc3 and choose a process flow with smart amplifier. clicking characterization, you can see those parameter which is for speaker.

    thanks.
