TAS5805M: TAS5805M

Part Number: TAS5805M

Hello,

We are designing audio circuit using TAS5805M IC.

The goal is to limit output power to the 2x20RMS at PVDD=21V R=8Ohm to not excess maximum current consumption.

Based on calculations the AGAIN should be 1000b (-4dB) and the AGL=0,5dB

Vspeaker_max ≈ PVDD × RL / (RL + 2 × (RDS(on) + ZDC)) = 21x8/(8+2x(0,18+0,19) = 21x8/8,74 = 19,22 V

AGAIN = 20log(19,22/29,5) = -3,72 ~-4dB (1000 bin)

Output peak voltage at 20Wrms  PRMS=U2/R    U2=Prms*R=160

Urms=12,65 [V]                 Umax= 12,65*√2 = 17,89V

Total gain at 20W  20log(17,89/29,5) = -4,34

AGL/DRC threshold =  -4,34-(-4) = 0,34db ~0,5dB

Could you please support howto Enable and set the AGL threshold over I2C, without PPC3 GUI? Specification is showing default values however does not explain how to set specific ones.

Kind regards,

Michal
