OPA1611: Alternative with 20MHz and a closed loop gain of 20dB

Part Number: OPA1611
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA856

Hi Team,

A customer is looking for an alternative for OPA1611 with an open-loop gain greater than 20dB or as high as it comes at 20MHz. with low noise of 1nV/RT-HZ  or up to 2nV/RT-HZ.

Can you please help?

Regards,

Marvin

  • Hi Marvin,

Precision Amplifiers does not offer a a higher-voltage op amp that provides 20 dB Aol at 20 MHz. The maximum 50 MHz Gain-bandwidth (GBW) limit for our product line precludes such a product. A normal, first-order (-20 dB/dec) op amp Aol roll-off dictates a 20 dB Aol at 5 MHz, for a 50 MHz GBW op amp. And then there is the additional requirement of the 1 to 2 nV/rt-Hz input voltage noise density, which very much limits what we can suggest.

The High-Speed Amplifiers product group offer much higher Gain-bandwidth op amps than Precision Amplifiers. It looks like the OPA856, and others that have a GBW >1 GHz and 1 to 2 nV/rt-Hz input voltage noise density. However, do note that the 1/f noise can be high in the audio frequency region and that might become a limiting factor.

Contact the High-Speed Amplifiers e2e for recommendations and advice about high bandwidth, low-noise op amps and applying them in audio applications. I'm sure they have entertained such questions before.

    Regards, Thomas
