LM386: Interface with 8ohm 1W speeker

Hello,

I am designing speaker driving amplifier circuit that circuit uses LM386N-4.
Section 6.5 on data sheet shows output power characteristic for LM386N-4.
The conditions of this output power characteristic are Vs=16V and RL=32ohm.

I will connect 8ohm 1W speaker for this amplifier circuit and supplying +15V to LM386N-4.
I would like to check if there is any problem when connecting an 8Ω, 1W speaker to this circuit.

Hi MESH,

The minimum speaker impedance spec is 4Ω, so the 8Ω you're intended to use should be OK.
You can also refer to D/S Figure 3 in page 5, the output seems to reach about ~6.5Vpp at higher supply voltages.
