Differences between CC85XXDK and CC85XXDK-HEADSET

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3204, BQ25015, TLV320AIC3101

Dear TI staff,

I'd like to know what has the new CC85XXDK-HEADSET less than the CC85XXDK?

Reading documentation, it seems to me that the main difference is that CC85XXDK has more input/output channels (RCA, S/PDIF), while CC85XXDK has only 3.5mm jack.

Is that right? Or are there other important differences that I've not noticed?

Thank you,

Claudio

  • Hi Claudio,

The codec onboard the Headset boards is the TLV320AIC3204 while on the CC85XXDK we use the TLV320AIC3101. The TLV320AIC3204 is special for it's low power consumption. The idea is that the Headset ref design should be a reference for a complete headphone/headset. It also includes a DC/DC and battery charger i.e. the BQ25015 as a great interface to the battery.

As you mention the CC85XXDK has a lot more input/output possibilities and there's also the ability to attach different codecs and amplifiers through headers and connections on the Audio EB.
