Hi team
Could you explain in more detail about Short-Circuit and Thermal Protection?
1. When does the protection activate? Which current for SCP? Where temp?
2. How much is the threshold?

Hayashi

Hi Hideki-san,
Regarding the short circuit protection, you can refer to this older e2e thread: (+) Short-circuit protection feature of TPA6136A2 and TPA4411 - Audio - INTERNAL forum - Audio - INTERNAL - TI E2E support forums
As for the thermal protection, this is included in the operating characteristics table:

Hi Ivan,
Thank you.
What behavior in the SCP? Shutdown?
After the protection, how and what condition does customer recover TPA4411 from fault?
SCP: Auto retry but what does trigger TPA4411 recover?
TSD: Recovering threshold is TSDthreshold - 15C. Is it auto-retry?

Hayashi
Hi Hideki-san,
Yes, the protection state is similar to shutdown, with the difference that it will be periodically trying to enable back again.
In most Class-AB type of amplifiers, the protection is based on current measurement, so if the current trips over the limit when it tries to recover it will go back to protection state, otherwise it will resume normal operation.
Yes, the temperature protection is also auto-retry, once the temp goes 15C below the threshold it will resume normal operation.
