TLV320AIC3204: Filter is constructed on the DAC side to filter out environmental noise

Hi team,

Here's an issue from the customer may need your help:

Customer uses aic3204 to connect digital microphone, not ADC.

Now they want to reduce the ambient volume to improve the signal-to-noise ratio (heart tone small signal) of the destination signal, but don't know how to build the filter.

According to manual, there appears to be a default parameter filter, but how to take effect? The customer also tried to configure the register on page44, but it did not work at all.

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Hi Cherry,

Page 44 is for DAC. I suggest first to try with the built in ADC PRB section 2.3.3 then if needed move to page 24 onwards.

Is this appnote contradictory to other documents? Section 8 describes the DAC filter coefficients in page 8:

According to the registers of aic3204, the DAC filter is in the registers page 44 and later; page 8 is the filter coefficients for the ADC, right?

Hi Cherry,

In the apps. note, the device used in the example is AIC3100 which has DAC coefficient on page 8 and ADC on page 4.

You are right on AIC3204 device page numbers.

Hi Cherry,

The reference document section 2.3.3 has more detail on ADC processing block, those are several built-in signal processing they can try and if they need to design their own filter then section 2.3.3.1.10 and the above document has the detail of configuring the filter coefficients.
