TAS5825M: Application problem.

Part Number: TAS5825M

Hi,

PartNumber: TAS5825M.

input voltage: 24V

Mode: BD mode.

When the rate is set to 768K, it is easy to enter the protected mode.  The temperature 60 degrees.

Is there any way to get it out of protected mode?

Thanks!

  • Hi reed

768k is a very high switching frequency. inductor non-linear might be very obvious.

what inductor you used for LC filter?

or you can change BD to 1spw mode.

    jess

  • Jesse,

    Thanks!

    1. LC filter is use 4.7uH.

    2.  If you use HYBRID, The output power will slowly decline until it stabilizes around 4W.

The image below shows 384K, and the other speeds are the same.

  • Hi Jesse,

In 1SPW mode, the THD+N parameter will decrease. So BD or HYBRID mode is chosen.

    Any suggestions?

  • Hello Reed,

What output power are you driving into the device when you see protection get triggered? What is the frequency of the audio signal that is being used?

    best regards,
    Luis

  • Hi,when we see protection get triggered, the output power about 5W,the frequency of the audio signal is 768K,HYBRID mode; The same is true with other frequencies

  • Hi Michael

Have you checked register 0x70 to 0x73, to find out what fault been reported? I'm guessing it's OT fault, because under 24V PVDD, the 4.7uH inductor seems too small, the ripple current too large causing the additional power loss. We could try using 10uH or 15uH.
