Hi,

currently I am working on a Hi-Fi power amplifier (stereo output) that a digital input amplifier is preferred into my design, I am wondering which one it is more suitable between TAS3251 and TAS6584, I am quite familiar with TAS3251 into few projects already, but TAS6584 looks like a better option with more power output and no DSP (simplified), only concern is that THD is little higher and idle power consumption is more.

    Hello YG,

    I would recommend first listing out your system requirements and letting that drive your selection: No. of channels, audio source, features, performance requirements, protections, etc.. Based on your description of Hi-Fi power amplifier (stereo output), TPA3251 would be better paired with an audio DAC for digital input.

    Hello Damian,

    thank you for the quick reply, TPA3251 sounds like a good choice, but I had an awful experience before with studio monitor product that noise and EMC were not easy to deal with when PCB layout is compact (improving PSRR with low rail voltage (1.8V or 3.3V) is very difficult).

    nevertheless I will apply evaluation board soon to find out my answer.
