TPA2028D1: Can I2C and EN voltage levels differ in order for device to work?

Part Number: TPA2028D1

Hi all,

As described, due to PCB layout and restrictions, I use 3.3V for I2C and a 5V on EN pin, tied to PVDD.

I ask because I get NAK when communicating to TPA2028D1.

Does it matter these levels differ and can that be the answer why I cannot get acknowledge?

thanks

  • Hi,

Connecting EN to PVDD 5V and I2C to 3.3 Should not cause an issue.

As long as VIh(1.3V) and Vil(0.6V) is being met. please make sure you are using the correct address 0xB0, and double check the pin connections.

    Regards,

    Arthur
