PCM2912A: PCM2912A

Part Number: PCM2912A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM2912,

I have a trouble. When VBus and GND connect to power supply, XTIO will generate sin wave with 6 Mhz. But when PCM2912 connects against PC, XTIO out cannot keep generating the sin wave. But after few seconds it start again and stop. It looks like reset operation. What do I do to fix this issue. The circuit is very generic circuit. D- and D+ are connected USB with 33 Ohm.  VDO is connected with1.5k Ohm.

  • Hi Luis,

This looks like a duplicate thread of your question. Our expert will help you on the other copy of your issue.

    Thank you,
    Jeff McPherson

  • Looks like i hit resolve in the other. I´m sorry. This is what i send to him as well. Any help its super welcome...

We use this design from a previous project. The previous project works like a charm.

We even use the same layout; we just create a space to add a Hub.

We just add a Hub which is working and connect the USB to the second port in the hub. It's a 2 ports hub.

To power the PCM2912A we put this AP2152SG

We can see data arriving to the PCM2912A and the clock working, but after it receive the data just stop. We check the 6mhz crystal and is not oscillating.

We check the AP2152SG FLG1 and its not negated, so no overcurrent.

What can cause this behavior in the PCM2912A. Could a suspend command do this? What should i be looking for...

There is a similar report 3 year ago, but it has no answer.

  • Is this running concurrently with the 2nd port when it happened, what if it's running by itself?

You will need to get USB analyzer and monitor the USB traffic.

It sounds something happened during the transmission.

  • Yes we put the USB analyzer and when n the receive the GET_DEVICE to enumerate the device the PCM2912A stop oscilating and thats it

  • Do you see this on all device/setup? Please provide a picture of the setup and the USB Analyzer trace.

Did you try running by itself?
