Hello Hanno,
Some of our devices have master and slave modes with synchronization pins, but this device doesn't have this feature. I think the best course would be to hook up the two chips in parallel, where they receive the same I2S signal and power. I believe the chips won't have enough noise to produce any analog modulations, and because the chips are receiving the same data and clocks the digital signal would be synced. The only way the output of the amps could be unsynchronized is if they receive different smart amp profiles.
If you can share the application of this configuration, I may be able to offer some more specific advice.
Regards,
Kian Fotouhi
Thanks!
in addition, what would be needed to evaluate a stereo application with 2 TAS2563?
Option 1: 2*TAS2x63EVM should work, right?
Option 2: PPC3-EVM-MB+2*TAS2563YBGEVM-DC -> what additional features does this option bring?
Thanks and bye
Hanno
Option 2 would actually be best, as one TAS2563YBGEVM board has 2 chips in a stereo configuration. If you did Option 1, you would connect 2 boards together, assign them separate I2S addresses, and then connect one to the PC via USB. In this configuration, each board would need power as this cannot be shared over the connector.
Let me know if you have any more questions!
Hello Kian, if the TAS2563YBGEVM has two chips on it, only one daughter card (PPC3-EVM-MB+TAS2563YBGEVM-DC) is needed, right?
