I have got the PCM5100APW. System clock is 25.8MHz, low latency and it is designed to operate at 200kHz (Fs).
The datasheet specifies 2.1Vrms = 5.94Vpp.
When setup for;
1) 500Hz acoustic output, OUTL was 5.96Vpp
2) 5kHz acoustic output, OUTL was 5.52Vpp
3) 10kHz acoustic output, OUTL was 5.4Vpp
I was expecting the output to be 'flat' and 5.94Vpp up to 200,000*0.47 or 94kHz.All of the above are well below the 94kHz limit.
Why does the output level go down when it is well below the -3dB point of internal digital filter?
Hello,
Filters have a ripple on the band pass , so you won't get a flat band. You can see the ripple plots for low latency and Normal filters in datasheet (for example see fig 18 and fig 27)
Kind Regards,
