Hello Everybody

We have noticed something on an amplifier during testing and wanted to address this by your side to gain more insights.

During measurements, Audio team noticed that the amplifier still sent output power to the speakers even when playing a 16bit digital audio file of silence.

Using an oscilloscope and differential pair measurement we got (3.5Vrms) from this use case.

This is happening even when the amplifier is being put on software mute.

Has this "issue" ever been occurred/reported by someone?

Is this a feature of the amplifier?

If a fix is available how can this be resolved?

Thank you!

  • Hi Uranik,

Can you please share more details on the issue,

Such as the devices I2C initialization, the schematic, and an image of the filtered output waveform? for example is it a tone or noise?

We have not seen such an issue before, where even when muted the device is playing audio,

    Regards,
    Arthur
