Hello TI member,

I would like to use TLV320AIC3268 CODEC with DRV601 line driver. The block diagram shown as below:

My questions are as follows:

1. Can I use the RECP-RECM pins of the TLV320AIC3268 codec as differential line outputs for the DRV601 like LOL-LOR?

2. Does BPF affect line driver impedance?

3. Another case, can you suggest any block diagram or CODEC-Line Driver compatilibity?

Hi Mehmet,

1. Yes RECP/RECM can be used as differential line outputs similar to LOL and LOR

2. The BPF will impact the impedance driven by LOL/R or RECP/M. It will not impact the impedance seen by the DRV601

3. We don't have any resources on this because the line drivers are built into the codec itself. The intention is that designers will use the integrated line drivers in most cases rather than using external ones.

All right, can CODEC drive the 150ohm line without the DRV601?

Hi Mehmet,

You raise a good point. The line driver won't support the 150 ohm load of your transformer. In that case you will need a DRV601, however you won't need it for the 600ohm load.
