PCM3070: ?Why is access to Purepath software taking so long?

Part Number: PCM3070
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3204EVM-K

Like the title said.  Can you please expedite access to this software?  I have a PCM3070 EVM and a USB-MODEVM interface and I would like to try sending and receiving ultrasound (30 to 40kHz).  I can't do much without this software.

Thank you

Felix Bors

  • Hi Felix,

I've approved your access to Purepath Studio, however this is only for configuring the miniDSP.

Register settings are better controlled using the control software. It's missing from the product page for some reason so I've attached it below:

    PCM3070-K CS.zip

  • I can not install PCM3070-K CS.zip.  It requires to install Labview 2010 which is not available.  How do I run this in 2023 on a Windows 11 laptop which I bought for this project?  I wish I could run GDE in Python on Linux.  Am I missing something?  maybe this PCM3070 is obsolete?  I want to build a prototype for ultrasound.

  • Hi Jeff,

using PCM3070rhbevm rev a. on top of USB-MODEVM board.  This is recognized by PurePath Sudio Home Audio GDE as :

MWIDTLV320AIC32-4EVM-K;  The GDE locks up with only the Framework PCM30702x 1x.

    I then downloaded :

    TLV320AIC3204EVM-K  -SLOC128

this installed fine the AIC3204_CS and it probably installed the correct NI crap.

    Now the PCM3070-K CS included above works!  I'm on windoz 11 home;

If I can only avoid GDE lock-up...  please help.

  • Hi Felix,

Can you try two things for me:

    1) Disconnect the EVM from your PC and try to load the framework in the GDE.

    2) If possible use a Windows 10 machine. Support for PurePath Studio has stopped, so there's no guarantee it will work on Windows 11.

I'm missing this EVM, but I'm having one delivered next week so I can double check and see if I get it to work.

    Best regards,
    Jeff McPherson
