TLV320ADC3101: Single ended vs Differential noise level

Part Number: TLV320ADC3101
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV134, DRV135

We previously have been using the TLV320ADC3101 to monitor differential signals. We now require the device to monitor a single ended signal.

We did a measurement of the noise levels (i.e. input pins floating) with the input set up as differential and as single ended.

We've believe that we have the "Audio Input Paths" correctly set up be injecting a signal on the ports.

When comparing the noise levels over frequency we see the following:

From the footnote for register 52 on the datasheet we expect the noise level to be 6 dB higher for single ended. (Is this correct?)

The "shoulder" seen at the lower frequencies in the single ended case is however a very serious concern for our application.

Questions:

1. Is the rapid increase in noise level towards the lower end of the band expected for single-ended operation?

2. Can you recommend any mitigations to reduce the noise at the lower end of the spectrum?

3. Would we have to go to a different ADC to get better single-ended performance, and what would the recommendation be?
