PCM5121: Audio data transmission delay

My customer care about data transmission time of PCM5121. So l would like to know what is the delay time range of audio data from input to output? Maybe several μs？

Hi Amber,

Usually for these devices we mention the group delay that is resulted from the selected filter characteristic as well as selected fs . For exact numbers please refer to page 9 of data sheet. For example the normal latency for fs=48k will be 416us. Low latency will be 73uS.

Hi Arash,

I find Audio Processing Flow of PCM5121 has many blocks other than Interpolation Filter, why the whole delay from input to output is only impacted by Interpolation Filter? other blocks don't impact the delay?

Hi Amber, even though there are more components in the path, only the filter is the major impact item and for delay we only use that spec.
