Hi team,
Customer design speaker amp with below condition
Load 4ohm
THD+N 10%
Output power 15W
Can TAS5805M achieve this performance?
Is this graph being indicating "maximum output power"?
Best regards,
Hayashi

Hi Hayashi
15W 10%THD shouldn't be a problem, as long as your system could provide enough supply voltage.
The picture you showed, is the 1% and 10% THD power VS. supply voltage. To reach 15W 10%THD, better provide 12V supply.
HI Shadow,
Thank you.
However, customer uses 12V with 4 ohm load, then 14.9W with THD+N = 11%. What can be considered?
LC filter:10uH,0.68uF, Fsw=768kHz, BD modulation.
Please let me know common ways to improver distortion.
Best regards,
Hayashi
Hi Hayashi
We could firstly check on the thermal. The curve in the datasheet is not for long time working, it's short time peak power. If the IC got heat up, the results THD value will increase, for Rdson value increase with temperature.
The other perspective, we could check the Rdc value of inductor, all all of the parasitic resistance value along the PCB trace and cable. There resistor would greatly affect the results.
