PCM1690: IBIS model not loading in TINA

Part Number: PCM1690
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Hi there, I'm interested in prototyping the PCM1690 for a new design and I just downloaded the IBIS model from the product page but I can't get it to load into TINA-TI. Can someone help me with this? How can I simulate the setup of this part?

Kind regards,

Mark

  • Hello Mark,

TINA is a SPICE type of simulator ( similar to PSPICE and its unencrypted netlist files can run in PSPICE too  ) whereas IBIS  is a Modeling technique that provides a simple table-based buffer model for semiconductor device. IBIS model is supported by variety of commercial simulators. Some of widely used simulators are from Mentor graphics, Key sight, Cadence and synopsys.

For help with IBIS please open a new inquiry and DO NOT put any part number in your title.

  • Thanks, Arash. Yes, I was a little confused about the IBIS model. Googling around I'd seen suggestions that it was a file that could be opened with TINA and I got confused. Kind regards, Mark.
