TAS2563: Questions of TAS2563

Part Number: TAS2563

Dear Team,

Could you help to review the schematic as below?

Many Thanks,

Jimmy

  • Hi Jimmy,

Please consider the following notes for re-design:

    • Decoupling caps on PVDD/VBST are rated for 10V only, notice the internal boost is 11V so the decoupling caps should be rated for ~25V in order to consider the DC de-rating factor.
    • Consider adding 1 more 10uF cap for PVDD/VBST decoupling, same recommendation for VBAT.
    • The boost inductor seems to be rated for 1.8A, this inductor must not reach saturation as it would rapidly change the inductance value. Unless you're planning to limit the boost with ILIM setting, consider using a higher current rated inductor.
    • During layout take these important considerations:
      • Place all decoupling capacitors close to the device.
      • Connect GREG capacitor directly to PVDD pins, not to the decoupling plane.
      • Keep a strong GND return from decoupling caps to the GND pins. It's preferred that GND on top layer pours "out of the IC" as well as using the next layer below the IC as GND plane.

You can refer to this document for further details on schematic and PCB layout guidelines: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slaa920/slaa920.pdf

  • Hi Ivan,

As shown below, the length NOM value (2.5mm) on page 1 of the spec cannot correspond to page 106, causing the footprint application process to get stuck.
Can you provide an updated datasheet or solution?
    Thanks!

    Many Thanks,

    Jimmy

  • Hi Jimmy,

Could you explain further what is the problem? Do you expect the table on page 1 to include more digits?

Customer should follow the mechanical information pages for further details.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Ivan,

    Thanks for your support.

The length of BODY SIZE (NOM) is 2.5mm, as described in the Layout engineer retreat, as shown in Figure 1 below.
In Figure 2 below, the corresponding value for dimension B is greater than 2.5mm. The calculated average ((NOM) should not be 2.5mm,
The two images do not correspond, so a footprint cannot be created.

May I know if there is a way to update the datasheet or a new version is available, Thanks!

    Jimmy

  • Hi Jimmy,

Data sheet can be updated, I'll bring this to discussion and check if update on front page is required, the update would take some time as it requires several approvals.
In the meantime, you can use the mechanical information pages, or download directly from product page: Ultra Librarian for TI

  • Hi Ivan,

We appreciated your great support always!!

    1. I tried to open the footprint in Allergo17.2 but were unable to complete it. Could you please help us open the file and send it over?

Symantec Mail Security replaced ul_TAS2563YBGR.zip with this text message. The original text contained prohibited content and was deleted.

    2. If you confirm that the specification can be modified, please describe and support it by email first. The company can first create a footprint in this way and then add the specification later.
    3. Is there an EVK board file for me to get the components?

    Many Thanks,

    Jimmy

  • Hi Jimmy,

Seems the antivirus modified the download files, causing errors?
I'll follow up over email with the design files for reference, FYI we use Altium so you would have to convert that for Allegro.
