Hi
I would like to check whether PVDD buck capacitor value will affect output THD parameter.
how to calculate the relation between PVDD capacitor value and THD value?

Yujiao,
The PVDD bulk capacitor or the large electrolytic capacitor can affect the clipping behavior of the amplifier at low frequencies. Too small of a value and the audio ripple imposed on PVDD will cause early clipping and a higher THD. Below the clipping point the THD is not impacted by the bulk capacitance.

Hi Gregg
thanks for your reply.
now we use two TAS6424R-Q1 IC as BTL 4*40W 2ohm and 4*20W 4ohm application in one audio system, and customer required 4*40W THD 1% and 4*20W THD 1%. if we use one 560uF capacitor in PVDD at one TAS6424R-Q1, would it fulfill
requirement for THD 1%?
Hi Yujiao
I think Qiu Wei is discussing with you about how to calculate the capacitor value, you could follow his suggestions.
And to guarantee 1% THD, like Gregg mentioned, provide enough PVDD voltage to avoid clipping is also quite important, not only rely on the cap value.
