Hi Harry,

In section 8.3.4 of the datasheet, it says that the device supports TDM8, and is only supported in the multiples 128, 256, and 512fs. TDM8 is much more typical and friendlier to the clock set up. TDM6 would be possible only if the clocking was setup for TDM8 and the last two channels are blank.
