PCM1803A: Sampling rate Confirmation

Part Number: PCM1803A

Hi TIer

I want to ask a question, is the nominal sampling rate of this chip in the range of 16-96 for any of the L and R channels? So are there two ADCs inside the chip to collect the voltages of the two channels respectively? Or an ADC for time-division multiplexing?

Thank you very much.

  • There are 2 ADC inside the chip. The digital output of both ADC 's is available on DOUT pin of the ADC. It comes as serial sdata on a single line. The image below shows

how the 24 bit data appears on DOUT Pin. To make the ADC work we need to provide the following input signals.

SCKI  A good value of SCKI is 256*Fs  or 12.288Mhz

BCK  A good Value is 64 *Fs  or 3.072Mhz

LRCK   A good value is 48K. This makes an Fs or sampling rate of 48Khz.

The Digital Data for the 2 Channels appears on DOUT
