Hello,

 

My customer is asking about output protection on LM4871.

Does it have output short protection?

Or can it use the thermal shutdown protection instead of output short protection?

    Hi Tao,

    There's only thermal protection, if there's a short at the output and the current transient is such that it causes the device to heat up it would indeed trigger the thermal shutdown.
