TS3A227E: TS3A227E -Signal switching problem

Part Number: TS3A227E

Hi TI team,

1. Our TS3A227E is used in the AUX_IN input scenario, 3.5mm audio interface is the input audio signal and output MIC signal, and the external device it connects to is the 3.5mm audio interface of mobile phone or computer (not 3.5mm headphone). TS3A227E can automatically adapt to 3-pole TRS, 4-pole TRRS (Standard), 4-pole TRRS (OMTP) according to the type of 3.5mm interface connected to AUX_IN, as shown in the figure below.

2. If the application of the first point above is confirmed, can we use the software to switch the three groups of switches marked by the red box by FW according to the type of the inserted 3.5mm interface, and the two groups of switches marked by x are not used?

  • Hello,

1.This device can automatically connect and adapt to 3-pole TRS, 4-pole TRRS (Standard), 4-pole TRRS (OMTP) . For more information on this please read this e2e.

2.Yes the internal switches for this device can be manually controlled using I2C software and more detail about this can be found in section 9.5 of the datasheet.

Please checkout this e2e post to see tips on i2c controlling this device!

    Regards!
