TLV320AIC10: TLV320AIC10

Part Number: TLV320AIC10

Tool/software:

Hi TI 's engineer. We met problems with PN TLV320AIC10IPFB 100pcs.
These parts arrived with visual defects:
1) There is a fuzzy marking on the front side of the chips, when viewed through a microscope, you can see a defect, like a burnt top layer.
2) There is an engraving of five characters on the reverse side. The font height varies on different instances of the chips.
In some places, the symbols are visible through a magnifying glass with a small magnification, and in others they are difficult to distinguish even under a microscope.
3) Visual defects at the corners. It looks like the chips of the outer case, under which the "inside" of the chips is visible

Please  comment on each of the three points above.
Thank you in advance!
  • Hi,

I'll check with our production team on these questions. In the mean time, were these parts purchased directly from TI or through a third party vendor? Are you noticing any performance issues with these devices?

  • Hi thank you for your reply. We these parts purchased directly from through a third party vendor ,We did not use it because we noticed that the parts were defective.

  • Hi,

    1) Burn markings in the laser etching is normal. The package is much thicker than the laser engraving so there is no damage to the die.

    2) The number you're reading is just for TI internal tracing. Different heights in the numbers is no concern.

    3) The die is much smaller than the package. So the die should still be safe even if the corner of the package starts to break.

I'm raising point 3 to our team. I recommend you continue with the devices, and if you notice any performance issues, please bring them up.

    Thanks,
    Jeff McPherson
