I have a question regarding TAS5086 audio digital to PWM converter,
How to change PWM switching frequency?
Default frequency is 384KHz but I Need 192KHz!
Can you please let me know why you wish to work at PWM frequency of 192 khz
I am working on a high power amp and the rail voltages are +/-120 so to reduce switching losses, the switching frequency should be below 250 kHz.
I am not sure here. there is an AM Avoidance mode where if you change the Fs to 24Khz you can get a PWM frequency of 192 Khz. I shall internally check and get back to you
The PWM frequency of the device is fixed at 384Khz and normally cannot be changed.
Please refer to the below document. This speaks of an AM Avoidance mode where the switching frequency can be kept far from an AM frequency for a tuner. The selected AM frequency for the tuner can be written into the device and the algorithm selects a suitable PWM switching frequency for AM avoidance.
The below snippet from the datasheet suggests that in AM avoidance mode that a PWM frequency of 8*Fs is possible, For a sampling rate of 24Khz this implies a PWM frequency of 192 Khz.
This is an old device and I do not have any details of the Algorithm implemented in the AM Avoidance mode . Therefore AM frequency shall practically have to be written in register 0xDE and PWM frequency measured .
