PP-SALB2-EVM: PP-SALB2-EVM Learning Board & TAS5828M EVM Board Question

Part Number: PP-SALB2-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5828M

Tool/software:

Hi TI support Team,

Now, I have two Symmetrical speaker ,that I learning  has met some issues,

1. Because the type of speakers is dobule diaphragm, does it can be learned following single diaphragm way ?

if can't, is there any suggestions for this question.

2. The two symmetrical speakers (R/L) , they are the same characterization 4 ohm / 4W, but the outer packaging is not all the same,

can I learning one side PPC3 file, then synchronize the another speaker ?

3. When I play sounds on TAS5828M EVM board at the begin, is normal.

But when I play a period of time after, the sound sounds R/L side became unbalance, is there any suggestions for this question ?

Does it thermal protection not at the same point cause this issue, or other factors affect.

  • Hi Lin,

I would suggest characterizing each speaker separately. If the back-volume of the speaker is considerably different, some of the model parameters, for example the resonance f0, may change causing different response for each speaker.

I'll double check regarding the dual-diaphragm characterization question and get back to you early next week.

  • Hi Lin,

If this is a 2-cable speaker, you can follow the speaker characterization process as any other conventional speaker.
