RC4580: TA: MAX value 125℃ or 85℃?

Part Number: RC4580

Tool/software:

Hi, Staff

The RC4580 datasheet (SLOS412D) states on page4, 6.3 Recommended Operating Conditions:
TA: -40(MIN), +125(MAX).

However, the same datasheet also states under PACKAGING INFORMATION that Op Temp(℃) is -40 to 85.

Q: Is the MAX value of Ta 125℃ or 85℃?

regards
cafain

  • Hi Cafain,

The Ta max should be 125C, as stated in the datasheet operating conditions and electrical characteristics tables. This is an error in the packaging information that we will work to resolve. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

    Regards,
    Ashley

  • Dear Ashley,

Good day and sorry or jump in.

May I know when will TI update data sheet?

TI will also update figure 5,6,7,8,9, in page 6?

  • Hi Hiap,

I can check with our internal team on how long the packaging information update will take but it may take up to a few weeks or months for the changes to be seen on the website.

There will be no change to the typical characteristics curves as these are  characterized over the specific temperature range indicated or at 25C in the graph.

    Regards,
    Ashley

  • Dear Ashley,

Thanks, noted it might take few weeks to few months time.

Since Vcc=±5V and TA=-40°C to 125°C are written in the Electrical Characteristics and Operating Characteristic,

could you double check with your internal and ask for update the graph(Figure5,6,7) based on it?

Figure 8 seems also wrong, pls help to review too.

Your prompt support will be appreciate.

  • Hi Hiap,

Typical characteristics are not guaranteed and we do not always have over temperature data available to publish on the datasheet. This datasheet is from an older device and our newer devices usually have more over temp curves.

If you have specific application concerns for a particular typical specs, please let us know and we can help to address them. But publishing new data on older datasheets is at the discretion of our internal business team and we take a look at these requests on a case-by-case basis.

    Regards,
    Ashley

  • Dear Ashley,

Thanks for updated PACKAGING INFORMATION on data sheet page 15.

I found TI revised it to -40 to 125.

However, customer is kept asking us to update graph(Figure5,6,7) as Electrical Characteristics & Operating Characteristics = Vcc=±5V, TA=-40℃ to 125℃

Below are the comments from customer:

    1) Figure 5 ~ 7 should have graph lines from -40°C to 125°C.

    2) Figure 9 is correct and Figure 8 seems incorrect, we need the correct Input Bias current vs Temperature characteristic graph.

  • Hi Hiap,

Could you clarify who the customer is and why they want the expanded temperature range for the typical graphs (Figure 5-7)?

I have noted the Figure 8 error to our internal team but this update will take longer to correct.

    Regards,
    Ashley
