TPA3100D2: TPA3100D2

Part Number: TPA3100D2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1770, TPA3130D2, TPA3129D2, TPA3123D2

Tool/software:

We need speaker amplifier with synchro  input for PWM switching frequency 781.25 kHz or 390.625 kHz.

  • TPA3100D2 includes SYNC input, but it is not written frequency range of SYNC signal.
  • I need EVM board for TPA3100D2, but I cannot find it. Is it produced or not?
  • What other speaker amps (class D) does include SYNC input?

Thanks

Sergey

  • Hi Sergy,

The frequency range of the SYNC input is 200kHz to 300kHz as mentioned in the MSTR/SLV and SYNC operation section of the datasheet.

Unfortunately, this device is old and the EVM is no longer made. There are a lot of our devices that can use a SYNC signal. Do you have any requirements other than 390.627kHz or 781.25kHz switching frequency (like output power spec, power supply)?

  • Hi Ramsey

    Additional requirements:

    Stereo output

    (8-15)W/chen

    Power voltage - (16-30)V

    Analog input

    Hardware interface.

It may be digital input and software interface, but it should be similar to PCM1770 interface

  • Hi Sergey,

I would recommend taking a look at the TPA3123D2, TPA3129D2, or TPA3130D2. All 3 of these have EVMs and fit the output power, analog input, and hardware interface. Their max power supply is 26V like the TPA3100D2, and they have selectable output PWM switching frequencies. However, they can only select between fixed values so you might not be able to get the exact switching frequency mentioned.

You should use a sync signal of 100kHz +/- 10% for the TPA3130D2. I would recommend to use a device as the master and use that signal as outlined in the datasheet.
