OPA134: About pcn

Part Number: OPA134

Tool/software:

Hi team,

PCN# 20240902002.1 is only a change in the datasheet, but it is a change in the electrical specifications.
Is this only a change to the datasheet?
If it is only a change in the data sheet, does it mean that the offset trim pin has been changed to an NC pin, which is no longer needed, although it still functions internally?

Best Regards,
Ryu.

  • PCN# 20240902002.1 is a notice of change to a product data sheet effecting all versions of OPAx134. Below is the list of all the datasheet changes:

  • Hi Ryu,

In addition to Marek's comments, I will add that the OPAx134 die will move to a new fab, which is the reason for the changes.  The new die will not have offset trim functionality, which is why it was removed from the data sheet.  This function will no longer work in circuits that used the additional trim feature.

    Regards,
    Mike

  • Hi Mike,

I am aware of the changes indicated by Marek and am asking the question.
So, is it correct that there will be a change in the device itself?
The pcn only mentioned changes to the datasheet.

    Best Regards,
    Ryu.

  • Hi Ryu,

In short, this is correct. Moving any product to a different wafer fab always entails somewhat different performance. Therefore, the changes to the datasheet reflect the actual performance of the device. Thus, the OPAx134 PCN changes listed above specify what those silicone (device) differences exactly are.

  • Hi Marek,

In other words, does it say that only the datasheet is changed this time because it reflects the correctly measured characteristics of the changes that were made in the previous pcn (PCN# 20231219018.1)?

    Best Regards,
    Ryu.

  • Ryu,

PCN# 20231219018.1 was just a general notice of the transition of OPAx134 to a new fab including qualification reports BUT without any details how this would effect the actual performance of the part (see below) while PCN# 20240902002.1 provides the details of all the performance changes caused by the transition to new fab.

Thus, the OPAx134 products shipped after Dec 2, 2024, will perform in line with all the changes listed in PCN# 20240902002.1
