Hello,

We are developing a handsfree application in a wristband including a digital microphone and a micro speaker with approx. 1W. The challenge now is to find an audio codec capable of:

  • Driving ~1W Speaker
  • Processing the digital microphone signal
  • Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC)
  • Microphone Gain Control and Noise Gate
  • I2S interface to host processor
  • Low Cost and small space requirements

    Hi Michael,

    There isn't a good fit here. We don't recommend trying to host AEC algorithms on our current DSP codecs since they are not large nor fast enough to meet modern AEC standards. The codecs that come close are also quite expensive once you include Class-D output. Something like the TLV320AIC3268 might work but it's ~$5.3 at 1k price.
