PCM5121: how to achieve differential mono output

Part Number: PCM5121
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3156D2

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

Can pcm5121 achieve mono differential output via inverting one of the channel audio signal polarity? if yes? how to invert the audio in PCM5121?

and then connect with TPA3156D2 PBTL mode with differential input.

Thanks,

Anderson

  • Hi Anderson,

PCM5121 is a stereo device , meaning you have 2 channels of data (OUTR and OUTL)  .  You can mix the two channels and get one single output via mono mixer as  shown in Figure 55 or 56.

Some other DACs,  each channel is outputted differentially meaning you get OUTML, OUTPL for left channel and OUTMR,OUTPR for Right channel but not PCM5121.
