TAS2X63EVM: PPC version warning / How to set to 9v?

Tool/software:

1) For the Purepath console, when we connect to the EVM we get the following message, what do I need to do to correct this?:

"You have a different version of EVM - Supported Hardware ID : FWDIDTAS2563EVM-REVA

2) We are running our setup without a battery and at 9v. What is the correct jumper settings for this config?

Hello,

1) You can ignore this comment. I do want to clarify though that the TAS2563 EVM will have a different PPC3 app depending on if you are using the BGA or QFN version of the device. The PPC3 app for the BGA EVM is "TAS2563 EVM" and the QFN device app is "TAS2563QFN EVM". Request / access link for both apps below.

2) From the EVM linked in the thread, it seems you are using the QFN device? Can you confirm?

Hi Adrian,

Thank you for the clarification. At minimum this EVM needs Vin and a micro USB connection. Vin can be in the range of 3.9-5.5V. The default jumper configuration is what you need to operate the EVM as such.

Great, thanks for the confirmation. Here is how I have 9v connected (PVDD & GND posts) and USB is connected to the host computer. Is this correct?

Hello,

Yes your configuration is correct for general external PVDD testing. If you are doing specific measurements like efficiency for example I recommend removing the inductor on the SW pin as this is not needed in external PVDD mode. The mode will still operate correctly with the inductor populated, but there could be some small leakage current.

Additionally please ensure BST_MODE is set to 11b (boost always off) and BST_EN set to 0b (boost disabled) before supplying your external PVDD.
