PCM5101A: Questions about replacement of TLV320DAC3100

Part Number: PCM5101A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320DAC3100,

Tool/software:

Hello,

My customer is using TLV320DAC3100 at current design, communicating AM3352BZCZD60 McASP I2C interface.
TLV320DAC3100 full-scale output voltage is 0.707Vrms. At next design they would like to have 2Vrms full-scale output voltage.
They are considering PCM5101A now and have some questions as follows.

Q1:
Can PCM5101A support more than 2Vrms analog full-scale output voltage (single-ended)?

Q2:
They would like to keep using AM3352BZCZD60 at new design. PCM5101A can communicating with AM3352BZCZD60 via McASP I2C interface as well with no issues?

Best regards,

K.Hirano

  • Hello,

PCM510x- is a stereo DAC with fixed output voltage, So the max output that it can generate at each output ( when full scale code is given) is 2.1Vrms.

I am not familiar with AM3352BZCZD60 chipset but I assume if TLV320DAC3100 can communicate with it , PCM5101A would be able to do it as well.

If you want to be 100% sure, please open a new thread with AM3352BZCZD60 in the title  and ask your question  question(s)  regarding this part so the appropriate product line supporting that part can comment on. Regards,
