TPA2011D1: TPA2011D1 issue

Part Number: TPA2011D1

Tool/software:

Dear  Expert:

Hello, in the process of using TPA2011, when switching on the machine and playing pause, there is a pop sound quite loud. If the EN of the amplifier is always raised, there is no pop sound when the playback is paused. So the feeling is that there is a pop sound when the power amplifier switch, and then help to see if there is a problem with the PCB data and the schematic diagram. Please help to find out what caused the pop sound. Thank you!

  • Hello,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Can you test AC coupling the input to ground and see if the pop is still there?

From the datasheet: "The TPA2011D1 does not require input coupling capacitors if the design uses a differential source that is biased from 0.5 V to VDD –0.8 V. If the input signal is not biased within the recommended common mode input range, if needing to use the input as a high pass filter, or if using a single-ended source, input coupling capacitors are
required." Depending on your input you can also try removing C33 and C36 as they may not be needed and could actually be causing the pop due to tolerance differences.
