PCMD3140: MCLK Can Only Be 12, 12.288, 13, 16, 19.2, 19.68, 24, or 24.576?

Part Number: PCMD3140

Tool/software:

Does MCLK really have to be one of the 8 frequencies listed?  It seems a bit strange given that the part has a PLL, and I do plan to use the PLL, as the DS says it is required for best performance.

I am master mode, Fs=16000, 4 TDM slots of 32 bits each.

The DS references SBAA495A which also seems to indicate that one of the 8 must be used.

Thanks for your help, Chris

  • Hi Chris,

Based on the MCLK_FREQ_SEL_MODE bit setting (underlined in blue), the MCLK can either be:

    1) One of the 8 fixed frequencies you have mentioned, or

    2) A multiple of FSYNC, the ratio can be selected from the MCLK_RATIO_SEL configuration (underlined in red)

    Thanks and Regards,
