TAS2320EVM: PPC3 not connecting to EVM

I have installed PPC3 v3.2.1 and the TAS2x20_v3.0.0 EVM App

I can play audio on both EVMs from the computer through the USB interface.

I've configured both EVMs as per the EVM User's Guide for software mode (I2C) and set SW2 to External ASI. The EVM appears connected on the front page of PPC3, however when I try to connect from PPC3, I get "Connected EVM is not valid for this app.":

What do I need to do to get PPC3 to connect?

Hello,

Please remove the jumper on J53, power on the EVM, and connect to the I2C master in PPC3. Please then press connect, paste the write (included below) associated with the EVM you are using, and then press execute. Then replace the jumper on J53 and try to connect to the PPC3 app again.

Thanks, that fixed it. I checked using I2C sniffer and it appears the EEPROM was completely blank prior to setting the model & serial number.

I had to go into the TAS2557 app in PPC3 to connect the I2C bus so I could send the commands (the TAS2x20 app immediately exited, so not possible to do it that way).

Hi Mark,

Glad to hear the issue is resolved. Going into another PPC3 app works as well but I was referring to the I2C Master app in PPC3 which you should always be able to open and connect to. Does your PPC3 not have this?

If you are not concerned about the I2C master and would like to continue using the app specific I2C loggers that works as well. Let us know if we can offer any more support during your evaluation of TAS2X20.
