TAS5760M-Q1: Whether the pin "SPK_SLEEP/ADR" have the SLEEP function while the TAS5760 set into software control mode?

Part Number: TAS5760M-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi, Team

I know when TAS5760 set to hardware mode, SPK_SLEEP/ADR is used for SLEEP function, and if the TAS5760 set to software mode, users can use SPK_SLEEP/ADR pin to set the i2c address.

But my customer prefer to know, when TAS5760 set to software control mode, Whether the pin "SPK_SLEEP/ADR" have the SLEEP function?

My customer plan to use 2 pcs TAS5760M-Q, and they will use the SPK_SLEEP/ADR pin to set the difference i2c address, but they needs to double check whether the SPK_SLEEP/ADR have SLEEP function for software control mode. If SPK_SLEEP/ADR pin also have the SLEEP function, how to use the this pin during normal operation? As I just mentioned, the customer used 2 pcs TAS5760. Therefore, the SPK_SLEEP/ADR pin has one pulled high and the other pulled low to set different I2C addresses. But if the SPK_SLEEP/ADR pin also has a SLEEP function, how should they be used correctly?

thanks.

  • Hi GW

But my customer prefer to know, when TAS5760 set to software control mode, Whether the pin "SPK_SLEEP/ADR" have the SLEEP function?

Yes, as below description is the datasheet.

But if the SPK_SLEEP/ADR pin also has a SLEEP function, how should they be used correctly?

Address detection only happens at the power up stage, which is around within 1ms after you pull up SD pin. For correctly using, provide power supply first, then provide clock, make sure ADR pin at correct state, and pull SD pin, wait for 1ms. Then the SPK_SLEEP/ADR pin could used for Sleep purpose.

  • Hi, Shadow

Thanks your suggestions, But i have a bit confuse, in your reply and from your captured picture above, the pin "SPK_SD" can be used for both for hardware mode and software control mode. But customer needs to check the "SPK_SLEEP/ADR", not the "SPK_SD" pin. Could u help to double confirm whether "SPK_SLEEP/ADR" can be used for both hardware mode and software control mode for "Sleep" function? Thanks again your comments.

  • Hi GW

      Sorry for the mistakes.

The SPK_SLEEP/ADR would not work as Sleep function under software mode, only works as Address. Could always pull it low, if want to use address 1101100[R /W]

  • Thanks Shadow, i will share to customer.
