Tool/software:

I am analysing TAC5412-Q and I am not able to find how many chanels can support with TDM. TDM-4, 8 until 16?

    Hi Javier,

    There is no fixed limit on how many channels are supported on the TDM bus as long as the timing requirements are satisfied. While I don't think I've seen any practical use case that has greater than TDM16, theoretically you could go higher.

    Internally there are 8 channels available on both the transmitter and receiver side. The codec will not be able to receive or transmit more than 8 channels. In this way you are limited to TDM8, but if you have other things on the I2S bus, you could run a TDM16 with the codec channels assigned to just 8 of those slots.
