MC57xxPSIA-TAS5727 No audio output.

Hi,

I am feeding AUDIO signal into the MC57xxPSIA and I can confirm there is signal going in, but no output from amp.

I have installed the software on WIN7 and I am able to run the GUI fine. But the problem is there is no output/sound from TAS5727EVM [OUT-AB or OUTCD]. The MC57xxPSIA is not drawing current.

Now after setting the desired values and after the 'CONNECT' command is given, I am able to see this error on the output window

Requested component (BQ3) not foundRequested component (BQ3) not found
Target Connected.
Setting EVM state...Done.

I could read 0x00 = 6C and also able to change all channel volume as well.

Jumper's JP-2 & JP-3 on the MC57xx PSIA board is 'IN' and also Jumper JP-4 is updated to connect Pin's 1 & 2.

How could I check whether it is the chip problem or software problem?

Sorry I noticed that I misread a part of your post earlier.

Thank you for your post and interest in the TAS5727. There can be some issues between WIN7 and the TAS57XX GUI. It sounds like the I2C Memory Tool is working. If you want to see if the GUI software is not working try using the I2C Memory Tool to write the attached file. Do not open the GUI. Open the I2C Memory Tool only. Go to I2C page in that tool and execute the file given. This file is very basic and should give you an output given an input signal. If this doesn't work just post back and we will go from there.

Dear Michael,

We have loaded your configuration file [6378.go.cfg] through I2C memory window as you suggested and were able to load the file and execute.There is still no output in the loud speakers. Please advice us what to do.

Are you using the TAS5727 in BTL or PBTL mode?

If using BTL mode,...

Here is the configure file I want you to run from now on in the I2C Memory Tool:

2330._GO.cfg

If using PBTL mode,...

Here is the configure file I want you to run from now on in the I2C Memory Tool:

3515.PBTL_GO.cfg

For hardware:

On the MC57xxPSIA board:

JP1 does not matter if using LIN and RIN. JP2 and JP3 need to be in. JP4 should be set to ADC mode (pins 1 and 2). JP5 doesn't matter (I usually leave it on pins 2 and 3). A0 needs to be in. PSIA jumpers JP6-10 need to be on pins 1 and 2 (not GND).

Which LEDs are on? LED1 through LED8?

What are voltages on VIN and PVCC? Are your GNDs for each tied together?

On the TAS5727 board:

Is there a jumper in on JP1 (BTL or PBTL)? Are there jumpers in on JP2 and/or JP3? What are you using for output signal (Out AB, Out CD, or OUT)?

On the setup:

What are you using for signal input and output analysis? What is your input signal? Are you using LIN, RIN, or both? What is your load across your output?

Dear Michael,

1) We are using TAS5727 in BTL mode.
2) Successfully loaded the 2330._GO.cfg on the I2C Memory Tool

3) Still no audio output.

On the MC57xxPSIA board:

3) JP1 is OUT
4) JP3 and JP4 are IN
5) JP4 set to ADC mode (pins 1 and 2)
6) JP5 as default left on (pins 2 and 3)
7) A0 is IN
8) PSIA jumpers JP6-JP10 are on pins 1 and 2 (not GND)
9) LED's:
   LED 1 & 2 are ON
   LED 3 is OFF
   LED 4 is ON
   LED 5 is OFF
   LED 6 is not mounted on MC57xxPSIA board
   LED 7 & 8 are OFF by default and turns ON when the corresponding switches are pressed
9) VIN = 5V
     PVCC = 12V
     GNDs for each are tied together

On the TAS5727 board:

JP1 is IN (BTL mode)
JP2 & 3 are OUT
Output signal (OUT AB)

On the setup:

NOTE:

We also have extra three samples of TAS5727EVM;6517621-REV A. modules.
We tried them with your MC57xxPSIA board.

Still no audio output.

NOTE:

We also tried connecting digital signal input to the MC57xxPSIA board
1) JP4 set to SPDIF mode (pins 2 and 3)
2) JP5 as default left on (pins 2 and 3)
3) JP11 (pins 2 and 3)
4) LED5 (SPDIF LOCK indicator) is ON

Still no audio output.

Hi K S Surya Kumar,

Is JP2 in? Can you probe with an oscilloscope, the CLK signals LRCLK, SCLK, and MCLK? Verify that the clock signals are valid. Can you probe SDIN1 to confirm that data is being sent to the TAS5727?

With regards to the digital signal attempt: "NOTE:

I assume the digital signal input is connected to the RCA jack, correct?

Dear Michael,

1) JP2 is IN

2) CLK signals:

a) LRCLK = 48 Khz

b) SCLK = 3.072 Mhz

c) MCLK = 12.29 Mhz

d) SDIN1 = 228 Khz ( Without Audio input )

Hi Surya Kumar Kikkeri Subbarao,

The TAS5731 has very similar power characteristics. The TAS5731 has fewer biquads but, it can do 2.1 configuration. If you have anything more specific that you would like to know about the TAS5731 please, post back.
