TLV320AIC3254: Not showing in purepath application

Part Number: TLV320AIC3254

Tool/software:

Hello everyone!

I have downloaded the purepath application and have got it running. I have TLV320AIC3254 mounted onto an EVM interface. When I plug it in via usb to my computer I do not get it on purepath as an EVM app. I already had a preinstalled EVM app called "I2C Master". When I click it i can connect and disconnect my device. When i disconnect the usb cable I can no longer connect to the "I2C Master" EVM app. So somehow it is detecting my device but I am not getting the traditional interface and control. I only get empty text fields. See photos:

  • Hi,

This EVM does not have its own PPC GUI, it does have its own standalone GUI which you can download here: https://www.ti.com/tool/download/SLAC214

You may have read PurePath on the website for this device, but it was referring to PurePath Studio, not PurePath Console. PPC is the GUI you have in these screenshots, which you could send I2C commands only with, but PPS is a GUI specifically for configuring miniDSP on this chip. I would recommend to start with the standalone AIC3254 software to write I2C to the device and configure the audio routing etc, and if you wanted to configure miniDSP later, you can take the scripts you made in the AIC3254 software and put them into PPS along with your miniDSP routing.

Let me know if you need more help.

    Best,
    Mir
