TAS5624A: PBTL power output at 1% THD

Hi,

Currently i am using TAS5624+TAS5538, i found that my PBTL config(PVDD:36V,3ohm load) only able to achieved 192W at around 1% and 200W is around 1.2%. May i know what is the PBTL performance on the TAS5624EVM? as i refer to the datasheet, at 1% THD the output is 200W for 3ohm load

Hello,

Your measurements seem accurate and within the expected device performance to me. With your settings the output 1% point should be around 200 W. Differences can be dependent on a dip in the supply voltage, additional resistance in output the path, the load not being exactly 3 ohm, or even the speaker impedance increasing slightly as the speaker increases in temp.

How about AD and BD mode? which one has the better THD performance for this IC?

Hello,

There should be similar THD performance between the two modes. One may perform slightly better than the other at some levels and vice versa, but overall the performance should be similar.

thanks for the information. what i am facing right now is the output requirement of my system has to be 200W at 1% or below. is there any setting that i can improve the THD?
