What is the Difference Between these two Chips TLV320ADC3120 Vs TAA3020

any marked as End of Life ? Revision ?

i want to make new design, which chip you suggest and why ?

    Hi Carey,

    TAA3020 is a slightly lower performing version of TLV320ADC3120 to support ultra low cost applications.

    Neither device is expected to End of Life 

    Revisions of the datasheet are captured in the datasheet. TAA3020 has no datasheet revisions. Neither device is expected to go through silicon revisions.

    I would recommend ADC3120 due to the higher performance, but if cost is sensitive to you, I recommend TAA3020.

    Thank you Jeff,

    if i had TLV320ADC3120 Evaluation Board, and configure, later i can switch to TAA3020 for product optimisation.

    Apart from the Performance, I hope same configuration in both. i mean working on ADC3120 = TAA3020 ?

    also, let me know if it is having Acoustic Echo Cancelation Feature can be enabled here .

    as i need VAD and AEC to be implemented. or i need to go with another Chip ?

    Hi Carey,

    1) Yes the two devices are software compatible, so the configuration can stay the same.

    2) We don't support AEC in full on our devices. Also I'm not sure how you intend to implement AEC using only the ADC. You need some kind of echo reference from the speaker side in order to cancel out the echo on the mic side. Our ADCs can't receive that signal and process it on their own. The data would have to be transmitted to a host and cancelled there. There's also no VAD on either of these ADCs but we do have that in our portfolio.

    The closet we have is that our newer gen of codecs (TAC5x1x) can transmit the echo reference signal coming from its DAC back to the host in order to streamline AEC running on the host. The same family of parts also does have VAD on it.
