After turning off XSMT (17 pin), I want to confirm the time it takes for OUTL (6 pin) to attenuate.
The datasheet states the following:

The soft attenuation ramp takes 104 samples.

I don't understand the interpretation of “soft attenuation ramp”. Is it correct to interpret that OUTL (6 pin) fully attenuates after 104 samples?

Hi Ryo,

there are 2 type of muting. One is hard mute that it mutes the audio right away from its current level of the output to completely mute..

Soft mute on the other hand starts to attenuating the output gradually until it is finally muted completely. In general it attenuates by -1dB per sample..

Soft mute takes 104 samples to ramp down the audio from 0dBFS to fully muted.
