TAS2505-Q1: I2S configuration

Part Number: TAS2505-Q1

We have a sound playback device which outputs I2S signals (BCLK, DIN, WCLK, MCLK).

Now there are multiple I2S modes Left, right, dsp etc modes available in TAS2505-Q1. So, how to decide which configuration to use?

What should be the settings for (BCLK, DIN, WCLK, MCLK) for TAS2505-Q1 to work?

Is MCLK mandatory for operation? Any impact on sound quality during product lifecycle ?

If sampling rate(Fs) is 32KHz then how to decide frequency for BCLK, WCLK, MCLK for 16bit audio for mono speaker?

  • Hi Anish,

    1. It depends on the host requirement, if host device can support I2S format, use i2s configuration in TAS2505-Q1

    2. Recommend to use TAS2505-Q1 GUI to configure Audio I/O, pls provide what audio digital format the host can provide, including frame rate, BLCK rate, bit width, MCLK(optional)

we can help to guide the configuration

    3. Can use BCLK as clock resource, pls use GUI to generate the configuration, no major impact for sound quality

    4. I'm not sure what's the BCLK rate, I assume it is 512khz, so I configure it as below, you can refer it to config the registers

    Thanks & Best regards
