TAC5111: TAC5111 echo cancellation with TDM

Part Number: TAC5111

Hello,

we are developing a device that should support AEC (acoustic echo cancellation). The TAC5111 chip may be suitable for this purpose, as according to the data sheet, it can output the reference signal via I2S.

Two digital Mems PDM microphones should be connected to the TAC5111. The Output should be connected to a class D Amplifier + mono speaker, is the chip suitable for this? Am I correct in understanding that it will then be possible to stream 3 slots (MIC1, MIC2, Refsignal) via TDM and that the host processor (ESP32 in our case) can use all the data synchronously for AEC processing?

Thank you very much for help!

best regards

  • Hi,

You are correct. The TAC5111 cannot perform the cancellation itself, but it can return the echo reference being given to the Class D amp and the digital mic data along the same TDM stream back to a host to perform the cancellation.

    Best regards,
